Elia for WPML is a plugin that enables the use of Elia ElhuyarÌtumọ̀ Yorùbá: ’s machine translator services within WPML.
This plugin simply adds the option to use Elia as a translation provider in WPML. Therefore, it is essential to have the WPML plugin installed beforehand.
Once WPML is installed and activated, install and activate Elia for WPML. Upon activation, a form will appear. After filling out the form, we will get in touch with you to provide the necessary credentials to use Elia in WPML/WordPress.
Sending Content for Translation
After authenticating Elia as your translation service in WPML, follow these steps to send content for translation:
- Go to WPML > Translation Management in your WordPress admin.
- Under the “Translation Dashboard” tab, select the content you want to translate:
- Use the filters if necessary.
- Mark the checkbox (1) next to the post or page you want to send.
- Scroll down to the “Translation options” section.
- For each target language, use the dropdown menu (2) and select “Assign translation service”.
- Click the “Translate” button (3).
The selected content will now be sent to Elia. You can track the status under the “Translation Jobs” tab.
Requirements
- WPML plugin must be installed and activated.
- No additional PHP extensions are required (e.g., cURL is not needed).

- Unzip the plugin files.
- Upload the entire folder to the
/wp-content/plugins/directory. - Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
- Fill in the form that appears after activation.

Activation
- Make sure the WPML plugin is installed and activated on your WordPress site.
- Install and activate the “Elia for WPML” plugin.
- In the WordPress admin menu, go to WPML > Translation Management.
- Click the “Translators” tab to manage who can translate content on your site.
- Scroll down to the Translation Services section and locate the Elia service.
- Click the “Authenticate” button next to Elia to begin the integration process.
- Enter the API token you have received by email to complete the authentication.
- After authentication is complete, you can start sending translation jobs to Elia directly from the WPML interface.
