Download, Upgrading, Installation:

Install

Unzip the wp-safely-disable-directory-browsing.zip file.
Upload the the wp-safely-disable-directory-browsing folder (not just the files in it!) to your wp-contents/plugins folder. If you’re using FTP, use ‘binary’ mode.

Activate

In your WordPress administration, go to the Plugins page
Activate the plugin, “Safe Directory” will appear in your Options menu. Go there and check the checkbox to Safely secure your directory.
